HELP SAVE THE GIRLS

Murder and abandonment of young girls ages one to five is a terrifying social problem in India with over one million girls missing every year from its average population. While poverty and the inability to provide for a daughter's dowry is one of the primary causes of this horrific trend, high-class families consider sons to be more valuable as they help in maintaining the family lineage. Despite the government's efforts to stop sex-selective abortions, it's nearly impossible to enforce these laws, especially in small rural towns. And so the slaughter continues with little hope of remedy except to save those abandoned instead of killed. You can help change this.
